It’s March La Jolla and spring is in the air. Perhaps that means you are spring cleaning or making plans to update your living space or spruce up the exterior of your home. You might find me knee-deep in an organizational project in the garage where it seems everything collects in our home and needs the most help especially with everything that comes with having two kids. I have discovered that it is best to make this an ongoing effort. However, this is easier said than done.
Inside this issue, you will learn about an amazing fashion and cultural icon living here and who found her niche in our seaside community by contributing to the SD Opera. You may recognize her immediately by her signature pink hair – a trailblazer, decades ahead of her time. Oh, and she is a dame by the order of Queen Elizabeth II. Yes, a modern dame in our neck of the woods.
At the end of the day, we all like to have a space of our own where we can come home to, relax and enjoy. What if that space was filled with luxurious furnishings, opulent fabrics, and fixtures that reminded you of your favorite places? Oh and everything was designed with a conscientious nod to the environment? We learn about Suzi O’Brien from EcoLux Interiors and she shares one of her projects with us.
As always, we love our community, its people and businesses. We especially love when businesses do good for the community and The Ark is no exception. You can rest assured that when you purchase an antique from their store that they will give back to one of many charities for our furry friends.
We will see you around town and let us know how you are spending your March.
